We love this community. We appreciate the diversity of individuals who are our neighbors and friends and with diversity comes differing opinions. This group of over 400 homeowners strong was formed as a result of the 28 July, 2017 Proposed Amendment to the CC&Rs which included a 60-day short term rental restriction.
Whether we are Owners who elect to rent, exchange, or do not engage in either, our common ground is that any amendment to the CC&Rs that dictates how we can use our property is an overreaching use restriction that will open the door for more intrusive actions by the DMMA Board.
“To maintain, operate, and otherwise manage buildings, structures, improvements, landscaping, parking areas, walks, common elements, common areas, recreational areas and facilities.”
We created this platform to educate our group members and the community at large on the current proposed amendment to the CC&Rs, what implications a change to the CC&Rs may have on Desert Mountain, provide a fact versus fiction approach to the information provided by the DMMA, and provide resources and information on what is happening outside of our gates in respect to restrictions on short term rentals in communities throughout Arizona.
We encourage our neighbors to become involved on issues that affect all of us and will affect future Desert Mountain property owners. Involvement, regardless of side, breeds a true sense of community.
We all may not always agree or share the same opinions, but we all do share a vast appreciation for this exceptional community. We ask you keep an open mind, ask questions, provide feedback, and consider joining this movement to secure our rights and the destinies of future owners.
